Assistant Manager Appointment

The eagle eyed among you will have noticed that Woolly has been joined on the touchline in the last few weeks and we’re now pleased to formally announce the appointment of Mike Carmody as our new assistant manager.

Mike is no stranger to football at this level, having had a successful management career in the NCEL of his own.

Mike started on the coaching staff at Selby Town before taking the manger’s job at Armthorpe Welfare and then most recently at Goole AFC, where he left the role in October 2023 and has been taking a break since.

However, we are delighted that he has now decided to make a return to NCEL football and to bring his experience to Woolly’s back room staff.

Mike had the below to say about joining the management team at Frickley:

’Really delighted to be asked to come and help out at Frickley. After positive talks with Woolly a few weeks ago, I’m pleased he feels I can come in and have a positive impact on the club and it’s players. I’m really enjoying working alongside him, it seems a very good fit for us both.

It’s a perfect time and the right opportunity for me to get back involved. Frickley is a huge football club at this level so I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’ve been in for a number of games now and appreciate the support and welcome everyone has shown me.’
