Match Preview – Saturday 8th November 2025

The Blues are back on the road this weekend as we head to Horbury Town for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm

Frickley come into this one looking for a fourth straight win in all competitions following an impressive 4-1 victory over Rossington Main last time out. The Blues controlled the first half and took a deserved lead through Shaun Heselwood, only to be pegged back against the run of play on the stroke of half time.

But the lads came out firing in the second half as Destiny Nnenanya restored the lead almost instantly before the Blues made sure of the points with a Lucas Robinson penalty and ‘that’ strike from Charlie Clegg (if you know you know, if you don’t then get on YouTube and see it!!)

The victory saw the Blues climb to 13th in the NCEL Premier Division table on 20 points and put further distance between ourselves and the bottom two as we rapidly head towards the half way point in this 2025/26 season.

In the bottom two are tomorrow’s hosts Horbury Town who are currently 20th in the NCEL table. They were promoted as champions of the NCEL Division 1 last season but have struggle to adapt to the higher league in the opening half of this campaign.

They will bring some confidence into this game however, having picked up their first win in 7 league matches last week, with a dramatic late turnaround to beat Albion Sports 3-2
