Our U23s vs i2i Albion U23s – a brief match report
i2i Albion 7 Frickley U23s 2 Another result involving Americans that no-one wanted & that sent shock waves around the world,,,,, A chastening evening for a very young Young Azzurri - but they will learn plenty from this game. Sometimes you have to hold your hand up, swallow your medicine & come back stronger in the next one. & if there is one thing that Martin, Tony & Bobs teams do, that is come back stronger Let's put things into context too - this is the U23s 2nd defeat in 2 & a half seasons & their 1st defeat of the season against a…
Our U23s vs Ilkley U23s – a brief match report
Ilkley Town U23's 1 Frickley U23's 7 Our Young Azzurri travelled to Ilkley Town last night as the hosts agreed to reverse the fixture due to our Dean WIndass event this Thursday (full details here) Another game that I had to miss as the man-flu is still ravaging my limp body - I had to keep up to date with proceedings by following the Twitter feed courtesy of the mighty Ken Whitehead & watching for Ceefax updates. When Ilkley equalised I got the hot sweats as I had flashbacks of them ruining the 100% winning record of the Invincibles 2 seasons ago -…

Our U23s vs RIASA Helsinki – a brief match report
I was unable to make the game - I listened to the mighty Ken Whiteheads excellent Twitter updates - as I was languishing in my plague pit of a bed, delirious, hysterical, sweating profusely, barely able to communicate except for pointing at pictures of food & drink that I needed my current bride to bring me (that's right, I've got cold...) & as I lay there, my limp, wan, unresponsive body ravaged by the man-flu, I thought about the RIASA Helsinki defence being ravaged by Haigh, Hughes & Cowsell I digress.... Our Young Azzurri continued their unbeaten start to the season with…

Winterton Rangers 1 Frickley 1 This was a frenetic skirmish between two sides who were both beaten 6-0 last Saturday. So maybe the eventual draw wasn’t such a surprise. But a 95th minute equaliser by The Azzurri? You just can’t make this stuff up.…
