It’s Wednesday night football this week for the Blues as we head to Campion AFC for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm

What a difference a week makes in football. This time last week, we were contemplating how we didn’t come away with 3 points after dominating a game against Parkgate that took us to 3 games unbeaten.

Now, we’re at the other end of the spectrum after conceding 9 goals in 2 back to back home defeats, the most recent being the 6-1 defeat to Golcar United on Saturday.

But that’s football. These boys have shown what they’re capable of this season so far with some top performances and we know that they have the ability to bounce back from set backs. It’s a long season and it won’t be defined by individual performances in matches!!

The defeat did see the Blues take a fairly heavy drop in the league table, with Frickley now sitting 14th on 11 points. However, that midfield in the table is very condensed and one victory can make a big difference so let’s look for a bounce back tomorrow to get back on track

Wednesday night sees us make the trip to Bradford to face Campion AFC. The Red and Blacks come into this fixture in 10th place in the NCEL table, one point better off than the Blues on 12 points.

They have strung a couple of unbeaten games, taking 4 points from their last 2 fixtures and returning to winning ways over the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Horbury Town

Campion have proven a tough nut for Frickley to crack in the recent seasons, with the Blues yet to pick up a point in 4 league fixtures against tomorrow’s opponents. It was a close run thing between the two sides last season, with Campion edging both fixtures 2-1 to do the double over the Blues
