3 of our mega-fans are trying to raise funds for our floodlight appeal – by walking from Westfield Lane to the Victoria Pleasure Ground Goole for our away fixture on 12th October 2024
Chris Medwell, Michael ‘Boomer’ Holmes & Alex Hewitt will be putting one foot in front of the other for 23 miles, with the trek expected to take around 8 hours
They are looking to individuals, groups, businesses & organisations (small, medium & large) for financial support to back the boys in their hour(s) of madness!!.
Here is the link to the funding page – if you can spare a couple of quid it will be very gratefully received
All size donations are welcome – if you can’t afford to donate but you can share the message, that is important also – sharing is caring!
Here’s why we need to fundraise:
There is no finer sight than the Wezziecana (aka The SALUS Stadium), especially under the floodies on a cold winter evening but the floodlights are inching closer to their end of life. Installed in the 1980s they are expensive to run in terms of electricity usage & replacement bulbs are now over £200 per bulb (and we lose at least 2 per season)
So we are now looking to have brand new LED floodlights installed – it’s the right thing to do, it will save money, it’s better environmentally and the lights are guaranteed for 10 years
We have applied for (and been granted) 70% of the costs but we need to find the remaining 30% and that’s our biggest challenge
Frickley Athletic is more than the first team at 3pm on a Saturday – our Foundation, our academy teams & our womens football teams are all based here – so we are reaching out to our local community in SESKU & beyond, to regional & national supporters for help.
Also If you know an organisation that might be interested in becoming corporate sponsors, we’d be delighted to hear from them – sponsorship details:
• Pick a Pylon
• £1000+VAT gets signage on the pylon for the next 3 years
• Match sponsorship one game per season
• ¼ programme advert for the next 3 seasons
• Shout outs on social media
….and of course our huge thanks for helping the club!
Let’s make sure the lights keep shining bright at the Wezzie!
