Forget your Ballon d’Ors & your Oscars – this is THE hot ticket when it comes to awards evenings!

After a successful & enjoyable season, what better way to celebrate than to have a successful & enjoyable presentation evening – held at the Wez in the Pavilion & attended by most of the squad, the 23s management team, a good selection of parents & a number of club volunteers. We finished 3rd in the league, 10 wins out of 16 – not bad for a league that is made up mostly of full time scholarship teams who train & play together every day

The evening was hosted by Martin & Tony, with plenty of prompts from the sidelines from Super Bob. Martin gave a game by game summary of the season & Tony gave a player by player summary of the season. These 2 gents could earn a fortune on the After Dinner speaking circuit – even if you weren’t the slightest bit interested in football it was still massively entertaining & demonstrated their love for the group of young footballers that they have assembled – & let me tell you this, this is a very talented group of young footballers.

So, let’s get to the awards!

  • Outstanding Season – Dylan Sefton (who was also awarded a pair of Marigolds to go with his keepers gloves!)
  • Leading Goal Scorer – Bailey Cowsell – 12 goals from 16 games

  • James Nicklin Supporter Of The Year – Mark Sefton (Dylans dad)

With my media hat on, the mighty Ken Whitehead & I would like to say a massive thank you for the lovely comments from players & parents regarding our media coverage – very thoughtful of you, it means a lot

Here’s what Martin & Tony had to say about the season just gone & the season to come – with a special guest appearance by the Players Player Of The Year – & a possible sponsorship deal with Budweiser…..
