It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to inform you of the sad death of Andy Anderson. Andy was a massive Blues fan, watched us home & away with his lovely wife Karen & was a regular on the Ian Clarkson / John Longbottom Fun Bus. He will be desperately missed by us all.
Anyone that knows Andy will know that he has been battling a serious illness in recent times & yesterday he lost his final penalty shoot out. But he passed at home & the amazing Karen was with him.
Andy was a top bloke & they made a wonderful couple – within minutes of meeting him, you knew what a rock solid character he was, the kind of bloke that you would always want in your team.
- He loved a beer
- He loved Leeds – so he will have been delighted to see them promoted to the Prem
- He loved Frickley
- He loved giving referees & liners ‘advice’!
- But most of all he loved Karen – really, really loved Karen & you rarely saw them apart
My enduring memory of him will be; beer in hand, arms open wide, smiling from ear to ear having just seen us smash another goal past the opposition
Our thoughts are with Karen
