Retained Player – Lewis Binns

He was teased by the Gaffer in his update last week but we can now confirm that Lewis Binns will be back playing for the Blues for the 2025/26 season!!

El Binno is Frickley through and through. A local lad who joined at the start of the 2022/23 season at the start of the Blues’ NCEL journey. He’s been part of the furniture apart from from a brief spell with Armthorpe Welfare at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Sadly, Binnsy missed the whole of last season through injury but still played an integral part in and around the group, working alongside Tom in the coaching team after a brief spell as interim manager following James Baxendale’s departure.

But after a lot of hard work, he’s now back for preseason and ready to go on the pitch once again!!

The Gaffer had the below to say about Binnsy’s return:

’Delighted to have Lewis staying with us in a Player / Coach role following his long lay off through injury. I will help Binno along the way as his attitude and commitment to myself and this club has been first class’
