The Club wishes to announce that we are looking for new board members to join the Frickley Family.
The Clubs Men’s First Team, currently playing the NCEL Premier Division, is just one part of our community football club. Also playing under the Frickley banner are 13 junior boys and girls teams, Under 17’s, 18’s, 23’s and, for the first time, we have a Women’s 11-a-side team.
The club also has its own award winning Community Foundation, leading activities beyond football in the local area. Working in schools, care homes and in our own purpose-built facilities to offer social and sports activities for all ages and abilities.
As part of the changes, the Club will also be setting up a new Management Committee for Volunteers to be able to contribute to the club without the responsibilities of being a Board Director.
The restructuring will also see current director Phil Cooper stepping up to be deputy club chairman with immediate effect.
Deputy Chairman Phil Cooper said: “I joined the board three seasons ago with some apprehension as it was my first time being involved in running a semi-professional football club.
It’s certainly been a learning curve but the satisfaction of seeing us grow has been worth every minute. I’d encourage anybody who is thinking about it to get involved.”
Club Chairman Richard Norman said: “When I joined the club during 2022 it was my objective to help stabilise and progress the club, having seen a period of uncertainty and relegation.
Progress has been made in all areas of the club, we are financially stable, we are progressing players through to the First Team and we have embedded a strong set of values and a whole club mentality.
In looking for new board members, there is a recognition that there’s more to do building on these solid foundations to see Frickley go from strength to strength on and off the pitch.
While investment in the club is always welcome, we are looking for people with a range of skills and the right fit is as important as experience or investment. If you feel you have something to offer and want to be part of this historic non-league club, please call me for an initial chat.”
