El Clasicoal it was described as, the battle of the local top two sides in the league & despite a strong swirling wind both teams battled & gave their all in preserving their long unbeaten records.

We started brightly but the hosts soon had us on the back foot forcing the Young Blues to defend resolutely.
Both sides created several half chances before Pontefract scored a good goal with a nice move down their left hand side.

We equalised just before half time when the Bretton Baggio, the talented Wade Ripley, danced past several defenders to superbly cross for Thierry Hendrickson to coolly volley home.

The second half was much the same as the first with both defences defending for their lives, but to be fair to the home side they did finish the stronger and had several late chance to steal all 3 points.

16 year old Dylan Sefton made one great save in the dying minutes to keep out a shot that was destined for the bottom corner.

Honours just about even although the hosts will probably think they had done enough to win it with their late pressure.

Outstanding were the defensive unit of young Dylan, Bob Smith MOTM Thierry Hendrickson, Nathan Fletcher, Ross Nowodny. Lee Jordan & Skipper Mason Kilmartin who all put a great shift in.

An enjoyable night of football played between 2 good sides !!!
