Match Preview – Tuesday 9th December 2025

It’s another away day for the Blues as we head to Albion Sports for a rearranged NCEL Premier Division fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm

The Blues will be looking to carry the momentum from Saturday’s huge 7-0 victory away at Thackley into this fixture after the lads produced a huge performance to dominate at a ground where we had previously never taken a point.

The first half was a relatively tight affair but the Blues edged it and were well worth the lead that Lucas Robinson’s curling effort bestowed them. But the second half was a different story as Frickley were ruthless to dispatch Thackley. Robinson added a second half hattrick to his strike in the first, with Tom Alngohuro, Destiny Nnenanya and Elliott Andrew securing an emphatic day.

The victory saw Frickley rise to 14th in the NCEL Premier Division table on 25 points and crucially the 7 goals and clean sheet sees the Blues catch the rest of the league up on goal difference, which could be very decisive as the season continues.

Our next opponents are Albion Sports. Albion currently find themselves in the bottom 2 in 19th place after a disappointing first half of the campaign. They will be looking to bounce back from a recent run of poor results, losing their last 4 in all competitions, including an FA Vase exit on Saturday losing 3-0 to South Liverpool

The Blues will have another opportunity to do a league double, after coming away 2-1 victors at Westfield Lane on the opening day of the season. Goals from Luis Afonso-Ferreira and Tom Alngohuro saw the Blues to a comfortable win, though Nathan Cartman did get one back for the visitors late on to make things slightly nervy.
