It’s getting to the business end of the campaign with only 10 fixtures remaining for the Blues, the first of which sees us welcome Eccleshill United to Westfield Lane for a crucial NCEL tie, kick off is at 3:00pm

Blues News

The Blues recent run of poor form continued on Tuesday night as we suffered a disappointing 4-0 defeat at home to Barton Town. In a theme for recent matches, Frickley made a strong start but were unable to take any of their chances and, once the first goal was conceded, things began to unravel leading to a comfortable Barton win.

It’s a result that sees the Blues remain in 18th in the NCEL table, loosing further ground to the teams above having played significantly more games. It’s also a 6th consecutive defeat since the 4-0 victory over Rossington at the start of December so a huge response is required tomorrow in what’s looking like being a real six pointer near the foot of the table

Form (Last 5) – LLLLL

League Standing – P28, W7, D4, L17, Pts 25, Pos 18th

Our Opponents

It’s 17th vs 18th in the NCEL table tomorrow as we welcome Eccleshill United to Westfield Lane with both sides desperately searching for points to pull away from the drop zone.

And the Eagles will be the more confident of the two sides having ended a 6 game losing run of their own last time out with a 1-0 win against Handsworth that saw them leap frog the Blues in the table, though they do have a good number of games in hand.

Form (Last 5) – LLLLW

League Standing – P23, W7, D4, L12, Pts 25, Pos 17th

Previous Meeting

It was the Eagles who came out on top in the previous meeting between the sides back in September, courtesy of a 2-1 win

It had been a perfect start for the Blues with Joel Spence scoring the opener inside the opening 5 minutes. But the home side fought back with goals from Zackary Sangster and Mohammed Farhan Subhani putting Eccleshill in front by half time.

The second half played out as a bit of a non event with Eccleshill comfortably keeping Frickley at bay to take home all 3 points
