Attention turns away from the league as we continue our JCP Construction League Cup campaign at the quarter final stage and welcome Campion to Westfield Lane, kick off is at 7:45pm
It was a positive start for the new management team on Saturday as the Blues ground out a solid point in a 0-0 draw with Tadcaster Albion. The result was our first clean sheet in 20 league matches which was a big step in the right direction!!
It was also a first clean sheet since the 3rd Round of the League Cup back in January as Frickley edged out Barton with a 1-0 victory courtesy of a late Al Keita strike. Lets hope that’s an omen for tomorrow night
Campion are flying high in the NCEL as they sit 2nd place in the league table after a very strong season. They progressed to the quarter finals following a 5-3 penalty shoot out victory over Beverley, with the match itself finishing 2-2.
It’s 2-0 in the head to head standings this season as well as Campion have done the league double over Frickley this season. A 3-0 victory on the opening day at Westfield Lane was followed by a 6-2 victory at Campion in November. So would be nice to get one back on our visitors tomorrow.
So come along and cheer the lads on as we look to make it into the semi finals of the league cup. Would be great to get as much support behind the lads as possible!!
