Match Preview – Saturday 21st February 2026

The Blues return to Westfield Lane this weekend for our latest NCEL fixture against high flying Beverley Town, kick off is at 3:00pm
The weather will have it’s say once again though so watch this space in the morning as we hope to bring good news.
Frickley will certainly be hoping for an opportunity to rebuild some momentum following last week’s impressive 2-1 victory away at Handsworth. Second half goals from Joel Spence and Charlie Clegg secured the Blues first win in five against a very strong opposition.
It’s a victory that saw Frickley climb to 10th in the NCEL Premier Division table and pull further away from the dreaded drop though the immediate pack remain very closely bunched so expect plenty of changing as we enter the final 10 games of the season.
We start the final 10 with another very tough test against a Beverley Town side who are flying at the moment. The Beavers are the league’s form side, sitting 2nd in the NCEL table having won their last 7 league fixtures and having not tasted defeat since a 3-1 defeat to Albion Sports at the start of October. They ground out a 1-0 victory over Horbury Town last weekend.
Before that Albion game though, the Blues also got the better of Beverley courtesy of a 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture. A first half free kick from Tom Alngohuro was added to by 2nd half Destiny Nnenanya and Lucas Robinson strikes. Although Glen Sani pulled one back for the Beavers, a Tyler Sheard strike in injury time secured an impressive away victory for the Blues that Beverley will be keen to avenge.
So keep your fingers crossed, pray for a dry evening and then come along as we look for a first home win of 2026. Admission prices are the usual:
Adults – £7.00
Concessions – £5.00
U16’s – £2.00
Hope to see you all there!!
