It’s time for a Boxing Day Bonanza as we welcome Goole AFC to Westfield Lane for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Blues as we find ourselves without a win in the past six league games since the 3-0 victory over Thackley in early November. This was further compounded by the 4-2 defeat away at Silsden on Saturday. However, we’re still in a far stronger position than we were this time last season and the positive results will return. Let’s hope that happens tomorrow!!

Our visitors Goole find themselves on an equally poor run of league form, also without a league win in the last 6. They find themselves bottom of the table on goal difference so will be desperate for a result to start climbing away from danger. They suffered a 2-1 defeat away at Thackley on Saturday

This will be our 3rd meeting of the season, with Frickley coming out on top in each of the previous meetings.

The first was the emphatic 8-0 win in the league back in October. A Brandon Murillo brace plus goals from Lloyd Smith and Keanan Mannings gave the Blues a commanding lead at half time before second half goals from Lewis Binns, Eliel Anku and an Alhassane Keita brace completed the result

The second meeting was much closer, with the scoreline only being 4-2 to Frickley. Keegan Townrow put the Blues in front before a long range screamer from Matthew Langley brought the Vikings level. However, 3 second half goals from Keita, Smith and a second for Townrow secured the win for Frickley, despite a late conciliation from Szymon Czubik for the home team.

So shake off those Christmas feathers and come along for what promises to be a feisty festive derby. Hope to see plenty of you there for a bumper Boxing Day crowd!!
