Our final home game of the season is upon us as we host Bottesford Town for one final NCEL game at Westfield Lane in the 2023/24 season, kick off at 3:00pm

Overall, it would be fair to describe this season as a mixed bag. A very strong start to the campaign has been heavily marred by a very poor run of form in the second half that still sees us winless since mid January, following our latest defeat away at Thackley last time out 2-1.

Nevertheless, there has been noticeable improvement from last season both on and off the pitch that has seen us comfortably clear of a relegation battle and end with mid table mediocrity, which is a step in the right direction.

Our visitors Bottesford are in a very similar position in the league though with the opposite story. They sit 16th in the league table after suffering a very slow start to the campaign. This was followed by a strong run in the latter half of the season that also saw them firmly away from any relegation trouble. Their last result was a 4-2 defeat away at Silsden

It was the visitors who were victorious in the reverse fixture back in November, edging the game 1-0. Matthew Broadley with the decisive goal in the 1st half to take the 3 points.

So come on down to the Wezzie for one final time this season and cheer the lads on to hopefully end the home season with a win. Our player of the season presentations will be taking place prior to kick off tomorrow so make sure you’re there early to not miss the announcement.

We’ll also be having an academy takeover throughout the game with some of our future prospects helping volunteers with various roles. So if you see some enthusiastic young faces selling programmes, be sure to say hello!!

Hopefully we can get a decent crowd to round out the season. See you all there
