The season finale is looming close as we set off for our final away fixture of the 2023/24 season with a trip to Eccleshill United in the NCEL, kick off is at 7:45pm
The Blues will be looking to end the season on a high and pick up a much needed victory following the recent poor run of form throughout 2024. It was disappointment again on Saturday as play off chasing Thackley edged us out 2-1 in a close encounter. Morgan James rounding out his season with the consolation goal before his move to Wombwell Town on deadline day due to being suspended for our remaining games
The result leaves Frickley 14th in the NCEL table on 39 points. Would certainly be nice to bring up the 40 point mark before the end of the season!!
Eccleshill have also struggled this season. Currently one place below the Blues in 15th, they’ve picked up some decent results of late, only losing 1 of the last 5 matches. They picked up a further win on Saturday, edging out Maltby 1-0 thanks to a Harvey Booth strike.
It was close encounter between the two sides back in September at Westfield Lane with Frickley edging the match 2-1. Lamin Janneh had given the visitors the lead early in the second half before a late brace from Al Keita turned the tie and secured the 3 points for Frickley.
So come along and get behind the lads one final time on the road this season. Our away support has been phenomenal all year so would be great to go out with a bang.
