We’re at home once again this weekend as we welcome Thackley AFC to the Wezzie for our latest NCEL fixture, and it’s an early kick off at 1:30pm so make sure you don’t rock up at 2:55!!
After an encouraging run of 3 games unbeaten against some tough opposition, it was a disappointing result on Tuesday night as we lost 3-1 at home to Winterton. There were some encouraging moments, including another tidy finish from Lloyd Smith, but ultimately defensive errors took their toll and led to the reverse.
Our opponents Thackley are currently 12th in the league table and are on a good run of form under new manager Tom Greaves. Last time out, they picked up a 2-1 win over Hemsworth MW so will be another tough test. They also added former Blues captain George Green to their ranks last week to add an extra layer to an already intriguing contest
And it was a 2-1 victory for the visitors in the reverse meeting back in September with Al Keita getting the consolation goal for the Azzuri who couldn’t force an equaliser despite some late pressure.
Keita will be absent however for tomorrow’s game as he serves his suspension due to his red card at North Ferriby last week. Otherwise, should be a full squad for Benno to choose from
