Last night the Frickely Ladies team travelled to Millmoor Ladies Football Club to participate in a round robin with Millmoor and Killamarsh. Killamarsh was where England & Chelsea legend, Millie Bright started her footballing journey – from small acorns, mighty oaks can grow!
Here how it went:
FRICKLEY vs KILLAMARSH II – W 4 – 0
FRICKLEY vs MILLMOOR I – L 0 – 2
FRICKLEY vs KILLAMARSH I – W 2 – 0
FRICKLEY vs MILLMOOR II – W 2 – 1
Some amazing football from all the teams, goals from Grace, Sarah and Nic tonight, generated by some perfect passing and communication.
First game for our new lady Jenny who showed some amazing talent up front but unfortunately only played the first game due to injury. She will be back soon.
Laura and Keeley battled well in defence, causing opposition strikers many problems. Susie, Al, Grace and Laura (again) worked hard upfront and on the wing. Sarah, our utility player, slotted in at all positions to help the team where needed. Last but not least, our keeper who always manages to pull off some super saves. Well done Emma.
Most importantly, the ladies played absolutely amazingly and the pitch was filled with smiles and laughter. After losing a few players due to injuries, the remaining ladies played on.
Thank you ladies for traveling to Millmoor and taking time out of your evenings to represent Frickley ladies and play the beautiful game of football.
Hope the injuries to Jenny, Grace, Sarah, Al and Emma heal quickly and we see you back on the pitch soon! 💪
Next week we face Howden Ladies and Wathletico 👍
