Three games played vs Worsbrough Bridge, i2i/Tadcaster Albion and Farsley Celtic, 14 goals scored, 3 goals conceded, 9 points out of 9 and top of the table. We’ve had worse starts…
With us averaging nearly 5 goals a game you might be thinking our young player of the month would be an attacking player. Certainly in the frame were Wade Ripley, Josh Haigh and Ben Ellison-Tope who have all been outstanding. But we would like to recognise a young man who has been outstanding through preseason and continued that into our first three league games.
So it is that our October player of the month is Danny Selwood, a right sided defender who has been superb playing at either right back or centre half. Since coming to Frickley he has played every game and he is a managers dream. Danny is very reliable, good on the ball, very rarely beaten in a 1v1 situation, good in the air at both ends of the field, he’s brave and he loves a tackle. Wow! It’s safe to say that he always performs to a very high level. And in addition to all of that, he is a top lad.
Well done Danny from everyone at Frickley, you have had a great start to the season and fully deserved this honour.
