Frickley Athletic v Sunderland RCA

So we all rocked up to the Everbuild Wez hoping for a similar display to the previous 2 games

What we got was a distillation of all the bad bits (& there were plenty of them) from the PSFs against Skegness, Grimsby, Barton & Lincoln.

A catalogue of injuries & a comedy of errors meant we were unceremoniously dumped out of the FA Cup – losing 3 nil to Sunderland RCA……& we were lucky to get nil.

Here’s what a more learned scholar than me thought to it all:

Sunderland RCA caused an upset on their trip to Yorkshire with 3 well taken goals.
The home side had the best of the opening quarter of an hour with Michael Hollingsworth having a couple of dangerous runs. However, it was RCA’s Taylor Richardson who got clear and slid the ball past Frickley keeper Jake Askew to open the scoring in the 16th minute.
Mark Davison repeated the trick two minutes before half-time to put RCA two up.
After the break, RCA continued to soak up pressure for long spells until a 63rd minute break by Daniel Hennis saw him square for Thomas Best to put RCA three goals to the good.
RCA’s Richardson hit the post after rounding the keeper late on as RCA eased into the next round.

Back to me – obviously if you’re missing 3 players from an already tight squad, & then lose 2 more during the game (West & Wells) it’s going to have an impact. But missing players aren’t responsible for poor passing & missed tackles….
