CLUB STATEMENT | MARTYN WOOLFORD

We can confirm that, following discussions yesterday evening, the club have made the difficult decision to part company with manager Martyn Woolford.

This follows the resignation of assistant manager Mike Carmody over the weekend.

We would like to place on record our thanks to both Martyn and Mike for all of their efforts over the past 12 months. Martyn took over the squad in a difficult situation last season and, alongside Mike, was able to turn around the clubs immediate fortunes.

However, the start to the season has not been what anyone at the club was hoping for. Another change of manager is not what the club wanted to do but recent events both on and off the field have ultimately led to this situation

The club will be inviting applications for the First Team Managers role, with a deadline of Friday 18th September. Any interested applicants should send their CV to secretary@frickleyathletic.co.uk.

Finally, to the fans, your loyal support through thick and thin deserves a team producing performances on the pitch for you all to get excited about and to be proud of. We will keep pushing to achieve this and give you all a team on the pitch that is worthy of your support
