REST IN PEACE, BRIAN “BARNEY” BELLWOOD

The club are deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our Honorary Vice Presidents Brian ‘Barney’ Bellwood who passed peacefully at home earlier this week at the age of 87.

Born in 1939, Barney grew up as a Blues fan from childhood before joining the committee in later life; before, during and after the very successful Gola League Spell that the Blues had in the 1980’s.

After leaving the committee, he remained a keen volunteer and groundsman, passing on all his knowledge to our current groundsman Neil, the partner of his niece and club Director Penny.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Penny and Neil, alongside Penny’s mum and Barney’s sister Elaine who also remains a club volunteer, through this very difficult time.
