Gaffer Martin Beaumonts record so far – played 3 won 3 & he also writes a cracking match report – what a guy!!
Frickley young guns continued their impressive start to the season with another win against tough opponents in challenging weather & a tricky playing surface.
Credit to Farsley as they certainly started the better & put the hosts under a lot of pressure for the 1st 20 min, but good defending/goalkeeping restricted the visitors to mainly long range efforts or the occasional shot off target.
Then the home side kicked into gear and scored 3 quick goals through Matty Hughes & a superb double from Mo El Sayed, the last was a superb passing move that cut open the Farsley defence.
Josh Haigh crossed for the 1st goal & the little magician Wade Ripley was providing the quality for both the 2nd & 3rd goals
Farsley must have been in shock after their decent start but they never let their heads dropped & when the home side failed to clear in the penalty box they scored a good goal, 3-1 at half time.
With the visitors having to chase the game Frickley enjoyed the best of the chances 2nd half and managed to score 2 more goals without reply. The 4th goal was scored by the man of the moment Wade Ripley when his left foot shot from the edge of the area deceiving the visiting keeper to find the bottom corner. The home side 5th goal came after Farsley’s keeper made two point blank saves from Robbie Wood & Matty Hughes but unfortunately for him Charlie Clegg was on hand to fired an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.
Another top performance against opposition that never gave up and it took some quality finishes to eventually see the hosts over the line.
Bob Smith MOTM went to Ross Nowodny & Lee Jordan who were both outstanding in defence & midfield.
Also massive thanks to Andy Haigh for Twitter updates during yesterdays game as there was no media presence as they are all a bit unreliable…..especially Medwell
Next game Thursday 10th November at home to Ilkley Town – come & watch these boys play!
