Games played in November & December –
v AFC Wakefield XI – home – 4-3 win (Friendly)
v RIASA – away – 4-0 win (League)
v I2I Utd – home – 5-0 win (League)
v I2I City – away – 4-0 win (League)
9 points gained, scoring 13 goals without reply in the league!
So Frickley Athletic U23s are pleased to announce their November/December player of the month.
Brandon Fearn is the winner, he is a very versatile young footballer, who has shown this quite remarkably over the last month’s games.
Against RIASA away he played the first half in goal due to a motorway tyre puncture to our regular keeper, then in the second half he swapped kits and hit the woodwork with a thunderous right foot strike.
Then against Tadcaster I2I Utd he played the full 90 mins in goal and he kept another clean sheet. Unbelievable!
Finally, in our last game this year v I2I City, who were also unbeaten, he played the central defensive midfielder role, arguably his best position. He was awesome throughout, constantly breaking up play and starting the majority of our attacks.
Frickley U23s have had a really good start to the season and they are playing some attractive football but the foundation to it all is players like Brandon who perform at a really high level wherever they play on the pitch.
He is a real asset to our team and when the going gets tough the management know they can certainly rely on Brandon.
Well done mate, you more than deserved your award!
