It is with great sadness that we have to tell you about the recent deaths of a couple of long time Blues legends of the terraces.
Jack Broome passed away recently. A regular behind the sticks with John Longbottom for as long as I can remember. They were amongst the first people to talk to me when I made my first tentative steps towards becoming an Ultra in the 70s & a great double act. Jacks funeral is Monday 21st October 12:20pm at Pontefract Crematorium
Paddy Tierney passed away earlier this week. Another legend who has been involved with the club for absolutely ages – as a fan & also as a committee member. I had a very strong connection with Paddy & his family as I was in the same class as his eldest daughter. My first tentative away trips as an Ultra (on the players bus) were in the company of Paddy, Mick Twiby, Jim Barber, Jack Reilly, Bob Bates (& the aforementioned Jack B & Johnny L) – sombre, abstemious affairs they were not!!!! Funeral details still TBC
The Frickley Family is a sadder place without them – we will miss them both tremendously
We send our love to both families
Sleep well gentlemen
