Safeguarding at Frickley Athletic
The intentions of most people who work with children in football are good, however in order to become part of the team with the academy at Frickley, we ensure that all coaches and committee members apply and pass the relevant checks. All our coaches are fully DBS/CRB checked and complete an FA regulated workshop on Safeguarding in Football.
The check that is completed is a DBS Enhanced Criminal Record with Children’s Barred List check. If for any reason a check is failed, at Frickley Athletic we ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure unsuitable people are prevented from working with children.
We have a designated Safeguarding and Child Welfare Officer, John Stancliffe. John has not only passed all DBS checks but has taken additional safeguarding training in order to become our nominated CWO.
If you have any questions about Safeguarding, Child Welfare or would like to raise a concern you can either contact John at john@frickleyathletic.co.uk or the club secretary, Jane at jane@frickleyathletic.co.uk and they will treat any issues, concerns or questions with complete confidentiality and as a priority.
As a football club and academy we are committed to making sure that everyone is responsible for the safeguarding of our children. We would therefore ask you as part of our club to help and support us in:
- Involving suitable people
- Creating a safe environment
- Recognising and reporting any concerns.
