Retained – Will Sykes

After the announcement of skipper Joel Spence’s decision to remain with the club earlier this summer, it’s now time to announce who will be joining him in Tom Claisse’s 2025/26 squad

And the first player to be retained is keeper Will Sykes who we’re delighted will be remaining with the club for another season.

Will joined the Blues from Hallam in January and went on to feature between the sticks in each of our final 12 league games, keeping 2 clean sheets in the process and saving a penalty against his former club at Sandygate in March.

His season came to a premature end when he was substituted after just 4 minutes of our final league game against Penistone Church after picking up a nasty head injury. But he is now fully recovered and raring to go between the sticks one again!!

The gaffer had the below to say about Will’s retention:

’Great to have Will onboard again for next season. He had a lot of good performances last season, which kept us in games at vital moments’
