Retained Player – Niall Butchart

We’re delighted to announce that our next retained player ahead of the 2025/26 season is Niall Butchart.

Niall joined the club last October from Goole AFC and has been used in a number of positions throughout his time with the Blues: right back, left back, central midfield and even on the wing, always giving 100% and committing to whatever role has been asked of him.

Niall missed the last few games of last season with a slight injury but is now back fully fit and ready to go for preseason, and his versatility will make him a crucial part of the Blues squad in the season ahead.

The Gaffer had the below to say about Niall’s retention:

’Not only is Niall a good player but he is also one of the nicest blokes I’ve met in football. He never misses a training session and his attitude is second to none. Mr Reliable!!’
