An update from Assistant Manager Blake Campbell on Player Recruitment and the Pathway:

Campbell commented: “Pat and I are firm on our stance in facilitating opportunities for young players who have the potential for first team football.

We both have a reputation for providing young players with a platform to showcase their abilities whilst maintaining their positive curve for development.

Both Martin Beaumont and Tony Jones’s work in our U23’s setup is just the beginning of what the club has planned moving forwards which is furthermore complimented by the extraordinary work being done in our academy sections. None of this is possible without all of our fantastic volunteers who are all vital to the clubs success on and off the pitch.

The recent success of Joshua Haigh and Wade Ripley making the permanent move into the First Team from the U23’s is a testament to the great work being done at the club.

Further to this, the below list of U23’s players will be joining the First Team for preseason with the potential for that list to grow in the weeks to come. These players will be given the opportunity to compete for a spot in the First Team squad for the upcoming campaign.”

First Team Squad:

Joshua Haigh, Wade Ripley

First Team Preseason Squad:

Nathan Fletcher, Charlie Clegg, Callum Beaumont, Ben Ellison-Tope, Isaac Jeffreys, Lewis Fox, Sam Cullingworth

It’s great to see that so many of last years U23 players will be given the opportunity to break into the First Team during preseason. Looking forward to seeing how they get on!!

Further recruitment updates to follow in the coming weeks and new player signings will be released in the coming weeks also!!
