We are sad to announce that Mr O’Reilly is no longer the manager of our U21s – however we are delighted to announce that the new manager of our U21s is Mr O’Reilly!!
Kyle is stepping away from his role as U21s manager to focus on his duties with the first team & he is being replaced by Casey O’Reilly (pictured), his brother.
Casey said “When I got the opportunity to manage the 21’s it was a fantastic offer, it’s something I have been working towards for a while now. The path the first team are on and the real togetherness feel at the club was a big pull for me. I can’t wait to get started and show everyone at the club what I can do
I started my coaching at Huddersfield Town ladies academy where I won the league. I then moved to Ossett Town ladies and ran the football for the first team and reserves. The season before I took over, the first team won 2 games all season finishing second bottom. After my season there, we finished second by a point and only lost one game all season, winning the rest. I then moved to Bradford City under 15 girls and won the league and cup double (first manager in the history to do so) and went unbeaten all season (again first manager to do so). My playing days started amateur then I played at Bradford City and Sheffield United at youth level as well as representing the West Riding County”
Those of you that follow the U21s will know that Casey has been in & around the team for a few months now, making occasional appearances & scoring a snorter of a free kick in 1 particular game (Peter Lorimer-esque).
Kyle added “The 21s need somebody who can give their undivided attention if they’re to reach their full potential and with me being involved with the first team I can’t do that, so Casey’s a good fit to take the reigns”
If you want to see what Casey & the boys are all about, the 21s have a home game on Monday 27th January, kick off 7:45 at the Wezzie against top of the table Harrogate – you can’t beat an easy game for your introduction can you……
Whilst we are on the subject, if you are 21 or under & a decent footballer we’re keen to hear from you. If you think you fit the bill, contact Casey on 07702 179968. We usually play our home games on a Wednesday at Westfield Lane & training is Thursday night
