Match Preview – Tuesday 3rd March 2026

It’s another midweek fixture for the Blues as they return to the road and head to league leaders Liversedge for our latest NCEL Premier Division fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm

Frickley will be looking to build on the much needed win against Eccleshill on Saturday, the 3-1 victory just giving that little bit of breathing room to the pack behind. Lucas Robinson was again the main act, scoring twice in the first half before Elliott Andrew scored from the spot in the second to make sure of the points after Eccleshill pulled one back and made things slightly nervy

The victory saw the Blues vault back up the table into 11th place with 38 points from 31 matches played. It also leaves the Blues just 4 points off equalling our best ever NCEL Premier Division points total, which saw us finish 15th in the 2023/24 season, so beating that remains a strong possibility as the season enters it’s final full lonth

A tough task awaits though on Tuesday night at the hands of league leaders and champions elect Liversedge. Sedge currently have an 11 point lead over 2nd place Beverley with 8 games remaining so look on course for an immediate return to the NPL after relegation last season.

Their home form has been imperious all season, having yet to taste defeat at the Claymore this season. They suffered only their second defeat of the campaign at Thackley in January but have since bounced back with 5 wins on the spin in the league, the latest being a 3-1 victory over Pickering at the weekend

The Blues are one of the few sides to take points off Sedge this season though, picking up a 0-0 draw at the Wezzie in September. Sedge did come out on top against Frickley in the NCEL League Cup in January however, winning 3-0 in the quarter final
