Match Preview – Tuesday 26th November 2025

It’s a second consecutive Tuesday night of cup action at the Wezzie as we welcome Golcar United in the third round of the JCP Construction NCEL League Cup, kick off is at 7:45pm

The Blues recent unbeaten run came to an end in spectacular style at the weekend following a heavy 6-0 defeat to Knaresborough Town. It was a poor performance not helped by some key players being unavailable and it’s a bit of a reality check after recent performances.

Nevertheless, Tuesday night presents an opportunity for the lads to show that Saturday was simply a blip and get back on track with a return to cup action. You probably remember the second round tie pretty well, with the Blues edging out Bottesford Town by just the 7-6 scoreline. Anything half as entertaining tomorrow and it will be a good watch

However, our visitors Golcar will certainly present a tough test, not being strangers to scoring 6 past the Blues themselves.. They progressed into the 3rd round of the League Cup courtesy of a strong 4-1 win away at Barton Town

As mentioned, it will be the third meeting of the two sides this season, with the Villagers getting the better of the Blues on both occasions, winning 6-1 at Westfield Lane before 6-0 in the reverse fixture. So a good chance for the lads to show the progress they’ve made in the past few weeks
