The February fixtures come to an end with another massive fixture at the Wezzie, this time under the midweek lights, as we welcome Bottesford Town for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm
Blues News
The Wezzie is becoming the place for late drama in recent weeks as the Blues left it late to make a fantastic comeback and secure what could be a valuable point with a 2-2 draw against Goole on Saturday.
It looked like the visitors were going to take a much needed victory when they led 2-0 with 10 minutes to go after a mad two minutes at the end of the first half. But a debut goal from Adam Watson got the Blues back into the game before Joel Spence stuck it top bins from 25 yards out to drag Frickley level and queue big scenes at the Wezzie once again.
Whilst a point gained for the Blues, it was also a crucial two points taken from Goole to keep the gap between the two sides at 12 points with another game gone by. However, Winterton were able to pick up a surprise 2-0 victory at league leaders Silsden which has closed the gap to the relegation zone to 10 points.
But with Winterton not playing in midweek and Goole now facing the league leaders, Tuesday’s fixture presents an opportunity for the Blues to build that gap as we push towards NCEL survival in the latter part of this season.
Form (Last 5) – LLDWD

Our Opponents
It will be another tough test for the Blues on Tuesday night however as we welcome a rejuvenated Bottesford Town side to the Wezzie.
The Poachers have won 4 of their last 6 games as they have dragged themselves away from the reckoning at the bottom of the table, currently sitting in 14th place and looking to have done enough to secure NCEL Premier football for another season.
However, it is a form chart built on strong performances on their home patch, with only 5 teams picking up a victory at the Barrett Steel Stadium, the latest being Hallam in a hard fought 2-1 victory on Saturday.
Away from home has been a different story with Bottesford only picking up one away league win all season so far. That was, however, in their most recent away game, a 1-0 win against Winterton, so there will be some confidence among the Poachers that they can make it back to back away victories.

Previous Meeting
One of those five teams to pick up victory at Bottesford this season is the Blues and was a dramatic victory as well with Frickley coming away 5-3 winners.
The Blues got off to a flying start when Rob Guilfoyle scored after only 4 minutes before Luke Bullement equalised with a free kick 4 minutes later. The Blues were soon back in front courtesy of a Cody Collins own goal but Aristides Cunha again levelled for the hosts just before half time.
The Poachers then took the lead for the first time just after the interval when Charlie Dunkerley struck. But then it was Frickley’s turn to come back, with Guilfoyle drawing us level before Jack Varley restored the Blue’s lead.
With Bottesford pushing for the equaliser, Frickley hit on the counter and Jamie Tomlinson scored his first Frickley goal in stoppage time to secure the points for the away side.
