Match Preview – Tuesday 24th February 2026

It’s back to back home fixtures for the Blues as we return to the Wezzie under the lights and welcome Parkgate for a rearranged NCEL fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm
It was a tough afternoon for the Blues on Saturday as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to a very strong and high flying Beverley Town side. Frickley had plenty of opportunities but were punished for some defensive errors and ultimately fell to another defeat, despite Charlie Clegg’s second half penalty restoring some hope.
The defeat saw the Blues slip to 12th in the NCEL Premier Division table on 35 points in what remains a very congested midfield pack where one positive or negative result can make a huge difference. A positive result tomorrow night will once again push the Blues towards the top half of the table
Visitors Parkgate are enjoying a pretty strong season to this point. They are in a bit of a league of their own in 9th place, clear of the pack below but adrift of the playoff chasers above. They will also be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 3-2 defeat to a 10 man Penistone Church at the weekend.
It was honours even between the two sides back in September in the reverse fixture following an entertaining 2-2 draw. The Steelmen actually raced into a 2-0 lead through first half goals from Alex Wonham and Jenson Ridge. But Frickley thought back through a Martyn Woolford penalty just before half time before Tom Alngohuro levelled up just after the interval
So wrap up warm and get yourselves down to the Wezzie for what promises to be a cracking game under the lights. Admission prices are the usual:
Adults – £7.00
Concessions – £5.00
U16’s – £2.00
Hope to see you all there!!
