The Tom Claisse era got off to the dream start on Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory over play-off chasing Thackley in Tom’s first game in charge.
It was a brilliant team performance throughout with the defensive unit standing strong under pressure from the Thackley attack during the first half and Harrison Davison-Hale looking resolute on his second home debut.
After the break though, the attacking unit burst into life and repaid the defence’s hard work with a clinical forward performance. Two quick goals from Rob Guilfoyle and Joel Spence put the Blues in control before a Jack Varley penalty took the game from the visitors and secured a fantastic 3 points.
The victory has done wonders to the league table as the Blues have been propelled into the top half in 10th place in what remains an incredibly tight midfield where a result either way can have big consequences as we reach the half way point in the season!!

Our Opponents
Out hosts for this weekend are Parkgate, another side firmly in that congested midfield pack. The Steelmen come into the weekend in 12th place but just 1 point behind the Blues on 21 points.
Parkgate came into this season as the reigning NCEL Division 1 Champions after a phenomenal end of season run saw them secure a league and league cup double at the end of the last campaign.
However, the side now is much changed from the one that won promotion last season, with many of the experienced stalwarts moving onto pastures new and an exciting young team taking their place.
This transition has resulted in inconsistency on the pitch this campaign, similar to Frickley in many ways. They started strongly but have only won 1 of their last 5 in the league. Their last result was a 4-1 home defeat to league leaders Silsden last weekend
