The Blues are back in league action this weekend as we head to Barton Town for our first away league fixture of the 2025/26 season, kick off is at 3:00pm

It was ultimately disappointment last week for the Blues as the FA Cup campaign came to an end with a 1-0 defeat to NPL side Brighouse Town.

However, it was a performance for the lads to take confidence from as they went toe to toe with a higher league side but couldn’t find a way through and were ultimately punished in the one moment they switched off.

It means focus can return to the NCEL with the Blues looking for back to back league wins after the opening day victory over Albion Sports. The Blues are currently 6th in the early league table, dropping a couple of places in midweek as other sides played.

Our Opponents

It’s a trip to Humberside for the first league away day of the season as the Blues head to Barton Town. The Swans were one of a number of NCEL sides who were in FA Cup replay action in midweek, ultimately prevailing with a 2-1 win over Loughborough Students.

It means Barton, like Frickley, have only played the single league game so far, which was a 1-1 draw with Rossington Main, so they will be looking for a first league win of the season after the FA Cup triumph.

Previous Meetings

Barton got the better of the head to head between the two sides last season, with the game at the Easy Buy Stadium being a 1-1 draw early in the campaign but the reverse at Westfield Lane being a 4-0 victory for the Swans.

The overall record between the two sides is very even, with both teams winning on 2 occasions, both of the Blues victories coming at Barton, with the remaining games being draws, so it should be another tight and entertaining encounter
