Match Preview – Saturday 6th December 2025
The Blues are back in NCEL action as we kick off December with a trip to Thackley AFC for our latest fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm
It’s been 10 days since the Blues last took to the pitch in the 2-0 league cup victory against Golcar United after last Saturday’s game against Barton Town fell foul of the recent wet weather.
But after a very busy November, it’s a been a good opportunity for the lads to get some rest and get prepared for some big games coming up heading into the festive period and hopefully for some injured bodies to make a recovery and return to the squad.
Games have carried on in the NCEL whilst the Blues have been out of action, which has seen us slip to 16th in the NCEL Premier Division table on 22 points. However, the table remains very tight, with only 8 points separating 7th from 17th so it’s still all to play for.
Another one of the teams in the midfield battle is tomorrow’s hosts Thackley AFC. The Dennyboys start the day in 12th place, 3 points ahead of the Blues. They will be hoping to return to winning ways after back to back defeats, the latest being a 4-2 defeat to Horbury Town last Saturday.
There was very little to split the sides in the reverse fixture at the Wezzie in August, with only a wonder strike from Luis Afonso-Ferreira in the second half edging the Blues into a 1-0 victory so expect another closely fought battle tomorrow.
