Match Preview - Saturday 31st January 2026

Frickley are hopefully on the road tomorrow for the first time in 2026 as we head to North Yorkshire and Pickering Town for our latest NCEL Premier Division fixture, kick off at 3:00pm

After another postponement in midweek, the Blues will still be looking to bounce back from the disappointing 4-0 defeat to Campion last time out. However, as we’ve said before, it was a scoreline that didn’t reflect the match with the Blues being well in it until late on so still some positives from the game.

The result saw Frickley drop to 13th in the NCEL Premier Division table on 32 points from 26 matches after a number of surprise results saw teams leap from the Blues in the league. But hopefully a chance to bounce back tomorrow with a positive result and get back on track

Our hosts Pickering are a few places above the Blues in 9th place, having collected 38 points so far this campaign. After a slight dip in form over the past couple of months, they’ve turned the corner recently winning 3 of the last 4, the latest of which was a 2-1 win at Horbury Town last time out.

It was honours even between the two sides at the Wezzie back in November after the two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw. Frickley led through Tom Alngohuro and had plenty of chances to kill the game off but couldn’t find the second goal. Pickering then landed a late sucker punch when Soulymane Coulibaly scored from the spot in stoppage time to snatch a point for the visitors.

So come along and get behind the boys on the road as we look for our first points of 2026. Address for the ground is below:
