After a short break from action, the Blues are back and ready for the push into the second half of the season, starting with a trip to Campion in the NCEL, kick off is at 3:00pm
Blues News
There’s been plenty to ponder for new gaffer Tom Claisse over the past couple of weeks following the disappointing 3-1 defeat away at Pickering in the previous league fixture.
It was the all too familiar tale of being wasteful in both boxes with Pickering capitalising on the chances afforded to them whilst the Blues weren’t clinical with their chances at the other end.
However, whilst no one likes a gap from football mid season, it might have been much needed for the Blues as the gaffer has had plenty of time to get the lads on the training pitch and to work with them on his ideas and philosophy. Hopefully that translates tomorrow!!
Frickley come into this one 14th in the league table on 22 points. However, the middle of the NCEL Premier table is still very congested and a couple of good results can soon change the tide in the table. Time to push on!!

Our Opponents
The Blues face a trip to Bradford this weekend as we head to Campion. The Red and Blacks also find themselves in a mid table position at the half way stage of the campaign, sitting 11th in the table, 3 points above the Blues.
Last season’s runners up have found their second campaign of NCEL Premier football much harder going but have secured back to back wins in the two weeks since Frickley last played, beating Bottesford 4-0 in the NCEL last week before a 4-1 County Cup victory over Yorkshire Amateurs in midweek.
They have also been boosted by the return of prolific striker Marcus Day who recently rejoined the club and could be set for a second home debut tomorrow. Day scored a second half hattrick against the Blues in this fixture last season which also took place on the final Saturday of November.

Previous Meetings
The two sides last met at Westfield Lane back in August with Campion taking the points with a 2-1 victory.
The Blues had the better of the first half though Campion struck first against the run of play through Zak Khan. However, Will Sutton fired the Blues back level shortly after but the home side couldn’t make the pressure tell.
After the break, Campion were much the stronger side and pushed for the winner. Frickley thought they’d held out for a hard earned point but Khan popped up in stoppage time with his and Campion’s second to secure all 3 points.
