Match Preview – Saturday 29th November 2025

The Blues are back in action at the Wezzie for our final game of November as we welcome Barton Town in our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm

After the blip at Knaresborough last weekend, the Blues bounced back midweek to record a solid 2-0 victory over Golcar United to progress to the last 8 of the NCEL League Cup, courtesy of a home debut double from Josh Lindley.

The response from the weekend was clear for everyone to see as the lads reverted to looking like the side who had gone 6 unbeaten prior to the fixture at Knaresborough. Factor in it was against an opponent who had already scored 12 goals against us in 2 games already this season, the resilience to secure the win and clean sheet is very encouraging

The weekend starts with the Blues in 14th place in the NCEL Premier Division table on 22 points, with a congested back of teams in and around them, so continuing to build some positive momentum to look up rather than down in the league is crucial as we enter the second half of the season.

Tomorrow’s visitors to the Wezzie are Barton Town, who will also be looking up in the table in their own way. They start the weekend in 6th place in the league, just one place outside the playoff places and will be looking to drag themselves back into the promotion picture.

After a strong start to the season, the Swans suffered a drop in form with a winless October but have started to turn the corner again with victories in their last two league matches, the latest coming courtesy of a 3-1 victory away at Bottesford Town on Tuesday night.

Their strong start included victory over the Blues back in August courtesy of a 1-0 victory at the Easy Buy Stadium. Lewis Stephens got the only goal of the game in which the Blues showed flashes but were ultimately unable to break through. Hopefully we’ll see a reverse in fortunes tomorrow
