The Festive Football starts right here as the Blues head into a tough double bill of away games, beginning with a trip to Thackley AFC in the NCEL, kick off is at 3:00pm
Blues News
The Blues come into the festive double header after suffering late heartbreak at the hands of Tadcaster Albion last Saturday, with Charlie Owen’s mis-hit cross sailing over the head of Harrison Davison Hale to give the visitors a 1-0 win.
It’s a summary that doesn’t begin to tell the story of a game that saw Frickley on the wrong side of some major decisions by the officials that could well have turned defeat into victory. Nevertheless, it was another encouraging performance as Tom Claisse continues to put his stamp on this Blues side.
The result saw the Blues remain in the bottom half of the NCEL Premier table, slipping to 15th after victories for other sides in and around us. It will be a tough ask to build on the 25 points amassed over the next two games but anything can happen in this league and the lads will certainly be up for the challenge.

Our Opponents
Our hosts Thackley remain embroiled in the play off battle at the top of the table. Coming into the weekend, they find themselves 3rd in the table, on 44 points, following a 3 game winning streak since a narrow 3-2 defeat to league leaders Silsden at the end of November.
The recent addition of winger Slater Barnes into their already potent attack has seen them turn free scoring in the last few games, with 13 goals across their 3 most recent victories, including a 5-1 victory over Eccleshill last time out.
The Dennyboys also welcomed back long serving goalkeeper Luke Wilson against Eccleshill last time out after a lengthy period on the sidelines with injury so will be both a strong offensive and defensive test for the Blues this weekend.

Previous Meetings
This will be the 3rd meeting this season between the Dennyboys and the Blues, and it will be the decider as both sides have picked up one win each so far!!
Thackley won the first meeting at Dennyfield in the FA Cup way back in August, with a 2-0 victory courtesy of goals in either half from skipper Ben Grech-Brooksbank and Jake Holcombe.
The Blues took the spoils though in the reverse league fixture at Westfield Lane six weeks ago in Tom Claisse’s first game in charge. A 3-0 victory after a fantastic second half performance, with goals coming from Rob Guilfoyle, Joel Spence and a Jack Varley penalty.
