Match Preview – Saturday 20th December 2025

The Blues are back on the road for the final time in 2025 as we head to Tadcaster Albion for our latest NCEL Premier Division fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm

The lads have had a week off to rest and recover following 3 games in 7 days last week that also resulted in 9 points as the Blues strong form continued with a 2-1 victory over Bottesford Town

It was the week of Lucas Robinson as he opened the scoring to pick up his 6th goal of the week and not even Charlie Clegg’s red card could spoil the evening as Tom Alngohuro added a second. Bottesford pushed but the lads held firm and pick up another vital 3 points

The victory saw the lads climb to 9th in the NCEL table on 31 points, only 2 points shy of the total in the entire of last season if you want a metric of how much we’ve improved. It’s also now 4 wins on the spin and only 1 defeat in the last 11 games in all competitions so confidence should be high heading into 2026

Frickley face a Tadcaster Albion side this weekend who are perhaps on the other end of the form scale. They remain 6th in the league table on 38 points but owe that mainly to a strong start to the season that saw them set the early pace.

Recent form hasn’t been as good with the Brewers winless since a 1-0 victory over Sheffield on 1st November. Since then, it’s been 2 draws and 4 defeats, the last of which came in a 3-1 defeat to Horbury Town last weekend.

The reverse fixture earlier in the season was played when Taddy were flying and they duly delivered with a 3-0 victory at Westfield Lane. A first half double from Alfie Dean was backed up by a second half strike from Noah Ward to secure the 3 points.
