Match Preview – Saturday 14th March 2026

The Blues are on the road for the penultimate time in the 2025/26 season as we head to Eccleshill United for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm

It was a spirited but ultimately unrewarded performance last time out as the Blues fell to a 1-0 defeat to high flying Barton Town at the Wezzie. However, it was a game in which Frickley dominated for large periods and restricted one of this season’s top sides to limited chances so plenty of positives to take from the performance of not the result.

The Blues enter the final 5 games of the season in 13th place on 38 points, still only 4 points away from equalling our highest ever points total in the NCEL Premier. And with 4 of the final 5 games being against teams below us in the table, there is a real possibility of a strong end to the season ahead.

The first of these games sees us head to Cougar Park, the new home of Eccleshill United. Eccleshill start the weekend in 16th place in the table, still with one eye on the developing relegation scrap behind them. They were involved in one of 4 midweek fixtures, losing 3-0 at home to play off pushing Sheffield FC

And it was only a fortnight since the two sides last met, with Frickley coming away 3-1 winners at the Wezzie. Lucas Robinson put the Blues in control with 2 goals in the first half before Daniel Laban got one back for the visitors to make things nervy. However, Elliott Andrew settled the issue from the spot in the second half to secure the 3 points for the Blues
