Hard to believe but our final home game of 2024 is upon us as we welcome Tadcaster Albion to Westfield Lane in our latest NCEL encounter, kick off is at 3:00pm

Blues News

Tom Claisse made it back to back home wins at the start of his management tenure last Saturday as the Blues produced a brilliant performance in difficult conditions to beat Rossington Main 4-0.

The Blues showed the importance of being strong in both boxes with a combination of some ruthless finishing and some stoic defending and goalkeeping to record our biggest home win since a 4-0 victory over Market Drayton in October 2020!!

Was also great to see the goals spread throughout the team with Marcel Chipamaunga, Rob Guilfoyle, Jamie Tomlinson and the returning Al Keita all on the scoresheet. Hopefully a good sign of things to come as we look for another strong result this weekend.

The victory saw the Blues initially climb to 13th in the league table but this became 12th in midweek thanks to Campion beating Rossington 3-1 on Wednesday night, the result seeing the latter drop below the Blues on goal difference.

Form (Last 5) – WLLLW

League Standing – P22, W7, D4, L11, Pts 25, Pos 12th

Our Opponents

Our visitors to Westfield Lane are Tadcaster Albion. The Brewers come into this one in 15th place in the table, just 2 points behind the Blues so would leapfrog us with a victory tomorrow.

They have been steadily playing themselves into form in the last couple of games, picking up an impressive away point on Tuesday in a 2-2 draw at league leaders Silsden, a game that saw striker Elliott Andrew go joint top of the goalscoring charts with his 20th strike of the season.

Aside from the free scoring Andrew, the Blues will also need to contend with dangerous wingers Luca Bolino and the recently returning Oli Norman, who was the league top scorer last season, so the Brewers possess plenty of attacking threat for the Blues to be wary of.

Form (Last 5) – WLLWD

League Standing – P22, W7, D2, L13, Pts 23, Pos 15th

Previous Meetings

The trip to Tadcaster in August saw the Blues pick up their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory.

First half goals from Rob Guilfoyle and a Jack Varley penalty put the Blues in control at the break before Harry Spooner scored off the bench in the second half.

Luca Bolino got a later conciliation for the hosts as they pushed late on but Frickley held firm to take home all 3 points!!
