Frickley are back in action as we begin our NCEL League Cup campaign with a trip to Goole AFC, kick off is at 7:45pm
The Blues come into this one on the back of 3 straight wins in all competitions following Saturday’s dogged 1-0 victory at Rossington Main. It was a classic away performance as an inspired defensive performance kept the home side at bay whilst Lloyd Smith delivered at the other end to give Frickley all 3 points
That run of 3 wins started against tomorrow evening’s hosts as Frickley ran riot to romp to an 8-0 win at the Victoria Pleasure Ground. Braces from Brandon Murillo and Al Keita, as well as efforts from Smith, Keanan Mannings, Lewis Binns and Eliel Anku capped an outstanding team performance on the night.
However, tomorrow night promises to be a different story as Goole welcomed a new management team following that defeat. Paddy Kenny and Nathan Helliwell have enjoyed a positive start in the job, as they started with back to back victories over Eccleshill in league and cup before falling to a 3-0 defeat against Hallam on Saturday. Goole will certainly have a point to prove and be looking to settle a score after a last visit, so a tough task awaits the Blues
So come along and get behind the lads on the road. There was a great turnout from South Elmsall at Goole a couple of weeks ago so would be fantastic to see so many of you again tomorrow. No supporters bus unfortunately but live commentary through PodBean will be available if you can’t make it, join us from 7:40pm for that.
Lets hope we continue our recent form as we look to advance in the Cup
