It’s a first for us for the season as tomorrow sees us play our first midweek away match of the season, with our travels taking us to Silsden AFC for a rearranged NCEL fixture, kick off is at 7:45pm
It was a damaging day all round on Saturday, as the 3-0 defeat to Thackley AFC led to the resignation of manager Wayne Benn. Once again, we thank Wayne, Andy and Jay for their efforts this season and wish them well for the future. But the fixtures keep on coming and we crack on
Our opponents tomorrow are Silsden AFC, another team who are struggling slightly for form, having lost 5 of their last 6 matches, the most recent of which seeing them go down 2-0 against Golcar on Saturday. However, they still remain 7th in the league table and will be desperate for a response, so the task for the Azzuri certainly doesn’t get easier
And it was tomorrow’s hosts who came out on top in the reverse fixture back in August with two late goals seeing them run out 3-2 winners after the Blues had been leading 2-1 for most of the game, Keelan Grist and Lee Bennett getting the goals on the night
Tomorrow will present Under 23’s manager Martin Beaumont with his first taste of managing the senior side, and the squad should be boosted with the return of Al Keita from suspension. However, one player who won’t be available is Kofi Appiah who announced his departure from the club earlier today. We wish Kofi all the best for the future.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel the supporters coach for tomorrow’s game but we’ll still be providing live commentary for those who can’t make it through Podbean, join us around 7:40pm for the coverage.
It’s been a tough few days for the club but the best remedy for that is to bring home 3 points, so let’s get behind Martin and the lads as they look for our first win of 2023. It’s a time to stick together and show our amazing away support!! Hopefully will see you all there
