It’s been an early season hiatus of 10 days without a game, but we’re finally back in action as attention returns to the NCEL and a visit to Pickering Town, kick off is at 7:45pm

It’s an unusual situation to have such a long break between fixtures so early into a new season when fixtures usually come thick and fast, but it will have given Pat and Blake plenty of time to reflect on the performances and reset with the lads in training over the past week

It was a disappointing exit from the FA Cup in our most recent fixture, losing 3-1 at Knaresborough with Rieves Boocock getting the late conciliation. But, from a league perspective, we’re looking to follow up the exciting 4-2 victory at Tadcaster two weeks ago and build on that

Our hosts Pickering have had a challenging start to the season. Relegated from the NPL alongside the Blues in 2022, they found themselves in the Northern League and only just stayed up, before being moved back into the NCEL.

4 defeats out of 4 at the start of the campaign has led to the departure of former Frickley coach Rudy Funk as manager, and the Pikes remain managerless going into this latest fixture. They suffered a late defeat at Thackley in their last game, losing 2-0 so will be hoping to kick start their season

So come along to offer the boys some support on the road. There’s still space on the supporters coach, which leaves North Elmsall at 5:30pm and returns immediately after the game. Seats are £10 for adults and £5 for U16’s travelling with an adult or with a Frickley Athletic Junior Membership. Contact Ian at 07790 569075 to book a seat

If you can’t make it, we’ll also be providing our usual live commentary through Podbean. Join us around 7:40pm to not miss any of the action

Let’s hope for another positive result on the road to get the season back up and running. Hope to see you all there!!
