It’s time for our first fixture of 2024 as we make the relatively short trip to Garforth Town for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm
The Blues come into the new year in 10th place in the league table on 33 points, 3 points outside those all so competitive play off positions, following Boxing Day’s 3-1 victory over Goole AFC. Hopefully the new year sees our improvements this season continue as we look to build a strong 2nd half of the season.
Our hosts Garforth also start the new year in the play off hunt, in a slightly higher 7th position in the league table and a point outside the play off places. They went unbeaten throughout October and November in the league to climb the table but stuttered slightly in December, having lost 3 of their last 4 in all competitions, including a 3-2 defeat to Knasresborough last time out.
And it was the hosts who came out on top in the reverse fixture back in September with a comfortable 4-1 win at Westfield Lane. First half goals from Nash Connolly and Sam Barker put Garforth ahead before Lloyd Smith pulled one back from the penalty spot. Connolly then added his second on the break before a Keegan Townrow own goal secured the 3 points for the visitors.
