3 games to go as we enter the final week of the season, starting with a trip to Thackley over the Easter weekend for our latest NCEL fixture, kick off is at 3:00pm
It was late heartbreak for the Blues in midweek as we crashed out of the League Cup on penalties following a 2-2 draw with Campion over the 90 minutes. But it was an evening with more positives than negatives as it was a fantastic performance from the lads to roar back from 2-0 down in the second half to take it all the way courtesy of goals from Richard Collier and a last minute Matty Hughes strike. Perform like that in our next 3 games and we’ll be a match for everyone!!
Thackley still remain in the hunt for the playoffs as the season draws to a close. They sit 6th in the league table, 4 points adrift of Albion in 5th so will be desperate for the 3 points tomorrow to keep their hopes alive. The picked up the win last week with a 2-0 victory over Knaresborough.
It was a very good contest between the two sides back in November that saw Frickley won 3-0 after a late surge. Luke Walker’s effort had the Blues edging the close affair before late goals from Keegan Townrow and Rieves Boocock gave the scoreline a more comfortable look than game suggested. Will be a good watch tomorrow if it plays out the same.
So come along and get behind the lads on the road. There are still spaces on the supporters coach available, seats are £10 per person and the coach leaves North Elmsall at 12:30pm. Give Ian a bell on 07790 569075 if you would like to book
And if you can’t make, you can listen to every kick of the action with our live commentary via PodBean, will be live from around 2:55pm so tune in and don’t miss any of the action.
Let’s hope to start the final week of 23/24 with a bang and bring 3 points back to Westfield Lane. Hope to see plenty of you there
